Cerritos, CA (June 3, 2021) – Authorities identified a man killed in a recent motorcycle crash on Sunday morning, May 30, as 37-year-old Anthony Boyd Jr., a Long Beach resident.

Troopers with the California Highway Patrol reported the incident around 2:30 a.m.and say the collision occurred in the westbound lanes of the Artesia Freeway, just west of Shoemaker Avenue. CHP Officer K. Beavers said that Boyd was driving his 2008 Yamaha YZF-R6 westbound when he collided with a 2013 Ford.

Boyd was declared deceased at the scene by paramedics.

The investigation is still ongoing, and further details about the events leading up to the accident have not been released.
