Bicycle Crashes in Orange County
Across the United States, over 6,500 bicyclists and pedestrians are killed in accidents each year. Sadly, the incidence of these deadly crashes has also increased in California. For example, California is responsible for one-sixth of the total number of pedestrian deaths nationwide yearly, with nearly a thousand pedestrians dying. Moreover, Orange County claims around 100 of these fatalities on its own.
In the Golden State, around 4,700 people are injured yearly due to pedestrian accidents. Whether traveling to school, work, or shopping areas, pedestrians have a significantly increased risk of being involved in an accident.
Adding insult to injury, most of these collisions might have been avoided if drivers refrained from engaging in risky driving behaviors such as speeding, driving while distracted, and driving under the influence.
Tragically, when a pedestrian accident leads to injury or death, the victim and their family may be forced to deal with serious, stressful repercussions as a result.
