Santa Ana, CA (May 16, 2023) – The Santa Ana Police Department reported an unknown number of injuries after a car accident that took place on Tuesday evening, May 16.

First responders arrived at the scene around 8:30 p.m. to assist those involved and conduct the on-scene portion of their investigation. Initial reports noted that the accident took place on the southbound side of I-5 at the exit and off-ramp to Broadway.

Paramedics and police officers were first assigned to the crash around 8:40 p.m., though officers have not provided further details on the number of vehicles or injured victims involved.

Authorities in the area are presently looking into the cause of the accident. SAPD officers intend to share additional information when it becomes available, but their investigation remains ongoing in the interim.
