California Data on Pedestrian Accidents
Every year, around 6,500 pedestrians are killed in the United States. In California, the number of vehicular accidents involving pedestrians has sadly increased. California, for instance, accounts for one-sixth of the nation’s pedestrian fatalities, with close to one thousand pedestrian fatalities annually. Around 100 of these fatalities occur only in Orange County.
In addition, around 4,700 persons are injured annually in California pedestrian incidents. While there are several pedestrian-friendly zones in Orange County due to the influx of visitors, the inhabitants have a quite different experience. Pedestrians are more likely to be involved in an accident, whether going to school, work, or shopping centers.
The majority of collisions may be prevented if drivers refrain from engaging in reckless driving, distracted driving, and driving under the influence.
A pedestrian accident that results in injury or death may have significant consequences for the sufferer and their family. In addition to financial problems, pursuing compensation after an accident may be fairly difficult.
