Placentia, CA (January 26, 2023) – On Wednesday evening, January 25, at around 8:45 pm, two vehicles reportedly collided near the Orangethorpe Avenue and Melrose Street intersection. Placentia police say three people, including a 10-year-old girl, died after a suspected DUI crash. Local emergency responders were quickly on the scene upon receiving calls concerning a severe collision.
It is reported that a passenger van was returning from a church event when it was struck by an unidentified vehicle. In the aftermath of the collision, police immediately discovered two adults deceased at the scene. It is reported that they were ejected from the vehicle.
According to authorities, the child, who has not been identified, died at the hospital. It is reported that four other people involved in the accident sustained injuries as well, but their current medical conditions are unknown at this time.
As reported by the police, the driver of the other vehicle may have run a red light. Further investigation continues as we wait for more information to be released.
