Bicycle Accidents in California

Westminster, CA – Bicyclist Struck by Vehicle on Magnolia St near Hazard AveBicycle accidents take the lives of thousands of people every year in the United States. Unfortunately, over 130,000 others are left with significant injuries. Here in California, we see a significant number of innocent people suffer debilitating injuries as a result of these crashes.

Head trauma is one of the most common and serious injuries suffered in bicycle accidents. Even with a helmet, a cyclist can sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI) if they are hit by a car or thrown from their bike. TBI can lead to long-term cognitive problems, paralysis, and even death.

Paralysis is another potential outcome of a bicycle accident. Spinal cord injuries can leave a cyclist unable to move or feel below the point of injury. In some cases, paralysis may be temporary; in others, it may be permanent.

Loss of limbs is yet another sad reality of bicycle accidents. If a cyclist is hit by a car or thrown from their bike, they can easily lose an arm or leg. This can obviously have a significant impact on their quality of life and ability to earn an income.
