South El Monte, CA (March 25, 2022) – On Monday, March 21, a pedestrian was hit by a car on a freeway in South El Monte. Police responded to the scene of the wreck at around 2:45 a.m. 

Reports indicate the crash happened on the 60 Freeway near Santa Anita Boulevard. Investigators said a 2016 Toyota RAV4 was headed east on the 60 Freeway when it collided with a male pedestrian. 

The impact of the crash caused the pedestrian to suffer life-threatening injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by paramedics. His name has not been released at this time. 

The driver of the RAV4 suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital from the scene. Two lanes of the 60 Freeway were closed for several hours on the morning of March 21. 

An investigation into this fatal pedestrian accident in South El Monte continues.
