Claremont, CA (January 19, 2022) – On Tuesday, January 18th, 28-year-old Janet Hernandez died during a single-car accident in Claremont.

The crash occurred at about 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Mount Baldy Road. An investigation revealed that the driver of a 2018 Toyota Camry was driving too fast for the wet road conditions, causing the vehicle to swerve, crash into a dirt beam, and overturn.

Medics transported two additional victims to Pomona Valley Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The driver of the Toyota was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence causing injury or death and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
