Colton, CA (September 3, 2020) – An auto accident reported in the Colton area sent two victims to area hospitals with injuries early Wednesday morning. At approximately 6:15 a.m., on September 2, troopers with the California Highway Patrol assisted firefighters and emergency medical services at the site of a collision on the Interstate 10 Freeway (Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway).
Reports provided by local news reports show that a three-vehicle collision involving a red Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and two sedans occurred on the Interstate 10 Freeway near the entrance to Mount Vernon Avenue.
The collision resulted in extensive traffic delays throughout the area. Firefighters and police secured the area and worked diligently to remove debris and vehicles from the road to restore the flow of traffic.
Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene of the accident and rendered aid to the wounded parties. Two victims required further medical treatment for their injuries. Both of those victims were transported via ambulances to Loma Linda Hospital for emergency medical attention. At this time, an investigation surrounding the accident is underway with the California Highway Patrol.
