Huntington Beach, CA (July 14, 2020) – Police state they have arrested a driver who fatally struck a bicyclist and then fled the scene early on Tuesday morning, July 14th. The deadly collision happened at the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Sunrise Drive in Huntington Beach at around 12:25 a.m.

Law enforcement officials said that the victim was riding a bicycle when he was hit by a car that fled the area. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene where they arrived to find the victim unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Police officers later found the driver who was then arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. No identities or any further information has been made available.

The incident remains under investigation.
