Irwindale, CA (July 5, 2020) – One person was killed and another injured in a head-on crash between a vehicle and a tractor-trailer that took place on Saturday night, July 4th. According to authorities, the fatal accident happened on the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway in Irwindale at around 10:48 p.m.
Officials stated that the 19-year-old female driver of a Nissan sedan collided head-on with a FedEx big rig in the vicinity of Ramona Boulevard. The impact of the crash wedged the Nissan underneath the tractor-trailer. Authorities were dispatched to the scene a short time later.
Emergency responders arrived at the crash site where the driver of the Nissan was pronounced deceased. The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 42-year-old man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
No further information was reported as officers continue to investigate this incident.
